New Horizon Leadership Institute has organized
the Inaugural Function of PGDM 2009-11 batch
of students joined in the institute’s PGDM and
PGDM (Service Management ) Programs. The program
started with the welcome address by Dr. S,K.Prasad,
Director of the Institute. Dr. Prasad in his
address advised to work hard during the two
year period of study and felt that the students
shall transform themselves employable. Dr. Prasad
highlighted that the institute’s library is
equipped with digital books and journals and
the students could access the information any
where on the campus from their laptops. He told
that students can access more than 1500 journals
from the institute’s website apart from reading
material and case studies on a wide range of
areas.
The Institute will also be conducting online
examinations for internal assessment purposes,
he added.
Dr. Sudershan Maini, Founder Maini Group of
Industries who graced the function as Distinguished
Guest of Honor in his address suggested that
rising above self is the key to leadership.
Dr. Maini said that we must follow our dharma-
values and students shall inculcate discipline
to achieve success. Dr. Maini suggested that
it is important to include a course on Values
for all students in higher education which will
mould students as managers with human values.
Dr. Maini said that knowing our weaknesses is
our greatest strength.
Dr. Maini has appreciated NHLI initiatives in
promoting high quality education with inter-national
facilities.
Pamdmabhushan Prof. Ramaswamy, founder director
of IIMB who graced the function as Chief Guest
in his address stressed that the students shall
develop understanding of Indian culture and
heritage. He spoke in detail about the spirituality
and its imperative influence on quality of work
life.
Later the institute facilitated the industry
associates of NHLI who have supported in providing
Summer Internships, visiting faculty support
and support in designing of courses. In all
25 senior managers belonging various companies
have been honoured.
The Inaugural function was attended by the Governing
Body and Board of Studies Members of the institute,
Principals, Deans, Directors of New Horizon
Group institutes and newly admitted students
of PGDM.
The function ended with a Vote of Thanks by
Smt. Vijayalakshmi Chetan, Faculty Member,NHLI
